Nora brings a light cheer, peace and a well-balanced physical and mental practice to her classes. There is nothing better than sharing a life changing experience with the ones you love!
Can I stay a portion of the time?
No. Your attendance and presence is important to us! We are creating a retreat for our guests that will require your participation from 2/14-2/19. We will always honor your need to actively participate in the retreat program or for your need for quiet and rest but we will not consider guests who are wanting to attend for only a portion of the retreat time. We hope you can enjoy the retreat with us and know that we are creating a sacred space together and your energy and presence is very important for yourself and other retreat guests.
Can I come in sooner or stay at Amansala longer then the retreat?
Yes! We have negotiated a discounted rate for our guests who want to extend their stays. You would book extra nights directly with the hotel.
What airport do I fly into?
Cancun International Airport.
Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?
Yes absolutely! We will need this specified on your registration forms.
Are meals included?
All meals are included in the cost of your registration except 1 dinner in which you will explore the local town with other retreat guests. Dinner on arrival day and breakfast on departure day is included.
What type of food is served?
Fresh, delicious, plentiful and seasonal! Only the best for our retreat guests.
I am still worried about food and drinks- tell me more!
Our retreat center has an on site restaurant open 7am-10pm for our guests that include snacks and specialty drinks. These items can be ordered from the resort restaurant between meals and added to your room bill to handle upon check out. You are also a 10 minute bike ride or 5 minute taxi from town where there is a local market should you need to purchase food. You will NOT go hungry we promise!
Is the facility handicap accessible?
Please feel free to contact us with any physical handicap that you might be concerned about. We will do our best to accommodate your needs, however, it is Mexico and we are limited by our location. Please make your request and we can discuss your specific concerns.
Do I need a passport?
Yes. We recommend that your passport is valid 6 months past the date of your retreat as well.
Do I need to transfer my dollars to pesos?
Yes. Most places will NOT accept credit cards and therefore you will need cash for your purchases. We do recommend that you have pesos with you as you will get a better exchange rate than if you are using USD. This will also be important when buying smaller items (water, food, small gifts) on your trip. If you do not exchange your money prior to your trip there are ATM’s located in the airport in Cancun and also at the bank in town. We recommend you only use bank ATMs.
What is an eco-resort?
Salamander is a resort that is focused on the preservation of the surrounding natural resources. Expect to unplug (that’s what a retreat is all about anyways right?), expect air conditioning to start at 10pm and shut off in the morning. There are no refrigerators in the room. *There is a medication fridge on site if needed. The facility runs on solar power (no hairdryers please!). Please note that this resort is “off the grid” and so your patience is always appreciated.
How do the shuttles to/from Cancun airport?
will be arranging your travel to the resort with a reliable car service. Rates are based per person and on occupancy of the shuttle. Two weeks prior to our retreat leaving you will receive an online link for you to enter in your flight information. You will book the shuttle to the resort on your own. Should you have flight changes be assured that the car service is tracking any flight delays your day of travel. In- coming travel must be paid in cash upon arrival. Delayed travel should email resort directly: email@example.com Cost is listed below: 1 person private car: $135 2 people: $70 3 people: $60 4 people: $50 6+ people: $40 *Gratuity not included
Is Wi-fi available?
Yes internet is available for a fee of $25/room for the length of the retreat. You can pay the hotel directly during your stay.
Is Tulum & Resort safe?
YES absolutely! Kim has been going to the Yucatan for many years and even recently with her small children and the locals are very sweet and kind. It is a very peninsula and the culture accommodates tourists. As is true when visiting any tourist area, petty theft and requests for money can be a “thing” and we urge you to be careful about your valuables. We recommend not bringing any valuables with you on the retreat and also using your locked resort room safe for extra precautions. Please note amansala resort does not have room keys for the bedroom- we will really learn to embrace the retreat vibe! Do not leave your wallets out in the open, do not bring or wear jewelry of high value to play it safe. We also encourage you to watch the USA travel warnings for American citizens and to practice safety just as you would normally (never travel alone, always let someone know where you are, don’t carry large amounts of money with you, only book a taxi through the hotel, etc).
Is there medical care at the resort?
In cases of retreat participants needing medical attention, there is a local doctor who can make house calls and speaks English should you need help. The cost is $80 per visit. The closest hospital is Cancun. We recommend that you check with your travel insurance and health insurance plan to make sure you can obtain good healthcare in case of an emergency while out of the country.
What is Mayan Sweat Lodge (Temazcal)?
A traditional Mayan sweat lodge is led by a local shaman and consists of a short introduction, followed by four doors or sessions of this ancient ritual where heated volcanic rocks are added progressively to the sweat lodge. Designed to cleanse and deepen ones own spiritual path and have a deeper understanding of oneself.

When I first arrived at NCCR, I didn’t believe it was possible to live a life free from anxiety, a life connected to hope. I was completely disconnected from my dreams, my body, and my own inner power. Kim brought me back into alignment with my physical body, providing me with an awareness I sorely needed and now apply daily. I recommend working with Kim without hesitation. Your future YOU will thank you for it! OK, now I’m fully crying!!! I LOVE YOU, KIM!
It was hard for me to trust, which made it challenging to connect with others. That’s when I started working with Kim at NCCR. Her firm but compassionate approach helped me learn to trust, not just her, but my ability to evaluate my relationships with others, as well as to value my needs. Kim’s support was invaluable when crisis jeopardized my well-being. Most recently, I was a participant on a women’s retreat hosted by Kim. Getting away from the stresses of everyday life to enjoy some revitalizing time helped me clarify my goals for the future, and create a supportive network of other women.
Nancy is a very kind, caring, and intentional therapist who puts me at ease time and again and always helps me feel heard. She empathizes, validates, and gently suggests changes. She’s ready to laugh or get serious. She’s always willing to try new things, to change course at any moment, or to keep with something important, despite frustrations and tough moments. When I feel like I need to move, we move! I never feel stuck in one place, literally or figuratively. I feel so lucky to have her walking beside me at this time in my life!
